Sarkis holds a special place in my heart as a cherished Evanston classic, and after three decades of patronage, it continues to be the epitome of breakfast perfection. I've been going to Sarkis since it was called, "Sarkis my friend." This is more or less a historical site at this point. But the management still keeps it true to Sarkis's word. You'll find the best breakfast in the entire Chicago area here. Some of the guys working here have even come from the time Sarkis was around. I love this restaurant. It feels like home. I can't recommend it enough. From the delicious fluffy pancakes, to "The DISASTER" this place has something for everyone.

Fun atmosphere - it really is great to go to on a nice summer day to sit on the patio. Took my son for his first birthday and he was treated to a special pancake! Didn’t expect it but they have high chairs available. The coffee is good and really enjoyed the Sarkis omelette and hash browns. Also great selection of hot sauce and cholula available!

This place seems to be going downhill and I’m not sure why. The food really is great (as great as breakfast food can be), but last time I was here with my friend they brought all of her food and forgot my order (not sure how if it’s on the same ticket???). I came here today with my boyfriend and I am not even exaggerating when I say we waited one whole hour for 2 Loretta’s, 1 hash brown, and 1 pancake. Countless tables around us (including a large party of 4 adults and 4 kids) had their entire meals before us. The couple next to us only waited 15 minutes for their food. When they brought our food, I asked for the condiments (hot sauce, ketchup, syrup) and they only brought the syrup. I had to get up for my own drink refills and condiments. Idk it was just so annoying how could they be that oblivious to their own poor service? Come here for good food but tread lightly if you’re in a hurry. Make sure you carve an hour out of your day before clocking in here to do their work for them.

Whenever I am in either Evanston or Wilmette I make it a priority to stop by Sarkis. The bacon loretta is always the go-tod I went gluten-free bread this time and was highly impressed. All of the hash brown items on the menu are to die for. I got the Cheesy hash with peppers and onions. This has been a staple in the Chicagoland area for years and it will likely continue that way into the future. We will be back sometime soon that’s for sure. The staff is always super helpful and kind. Outdoor seating is available for those wanting to take in the day and the weather.
